Our Big Bear adventure!

Oh Boy, where do I start with this post?! This certainly earned the title "adventure" for a reason. Tim had paid for and planned this trip to Big Bear months ago, and was so excited for it. All along I had it in the back of my mind that it was up in the mountains, which I somewhat dread because towing a trailer up and down mountain passes is not fun for anyone involved. So first off, we were stuck in LA traffic while heading south. Finally, we got closer to mountain range we were going to be entering and it looked HORRIBLE! We went from sea level to 7,000 feet in about 25 miles. Those 25 miles were covered in fog, drizzle and CRAZY drivers. At one point, a cop pulled a woman over for trying to cut in front of us and then later up the mountain we narrowly missed being hit head-on by an idiot going excessively fast around a corner in about zero percent visibility. Tim said I have never been so quiet in my life! I was freaking out, period!

All in all this was a fun trip. Tim's sisters’ family and parents came up one day and night and had fun with us. Of course, the day we had no company and had the day to site see the weather was great! It actually got into the high 70's the day we left and was supposed to get into the 80's this week. So far, all our camping trips this year have been cold, rainy or chilly other than one. Lastly, I cannot forget to mention the mountain pass we traveled to get down.  Never in my life have I seen a stretch of 11% grade and 16% grade and I grew up traveling in and out of the mountains, not to mention we had 6,000 lbs of trailer attached to the back of us.  I am so thankful Tim is such a seasoned and great driver!
