Several weeks ago Tim came home and told me we finally have an assignment to another base. But first let me backup a bit and explain the process we've been waiting on for what seemed entirely too looong! Being that both boys require specialist; Micah a kidney doctor and Noah a pediatric ophthalmologist the AF places us on a special care program called EFMP. EFMP originally cancelled our assignment to MT and then basically made it sound like we'd never leave Vandenberg because finding specialists for both boys and a job somewhat in Tim's career field was nearly impossible. They found a place for us and it's at Edwards AFB in the desert of CA....of all places! We will have to travel a lot further for both boys checkups, but Tim will have a cool job and we're more than ready to move on from Vandenberg.
We will leave by 27 May, which will give Micah time to finish up second grade at his current school. Both boys will be in school on base at Edwards. Noah starts kinder in the Fall!!!!! And Tim just tested for his next rank last week. If Tim makes his next rank we'll qualify to live in nicer, more spacious housing area. I'm hopeful he'll make Master Sergeant, but he isn't. Either way, we are up for a new adventure and have been told by many people that there are many cool things to do around the area. We will have to adjust to SEASONS, which I'm excited for. It'll be so hot in the summer and cool/cold in winters. Edwards actually got snow this past weekend :)
